I admit that I am a rimfire nut and love anything rimfire. 22 mag. has been a huge favorite of mine for Fox hunting ever since I bought my first one back in the 60's.
The 17Mach2 is quickly becoming a new favorite, enough so that I am contemplating have a custom barrel made. Rifle twist for the Mach 2 is normally 9T, but many state that when shooting the 17 Aguila which uses a 20gr. bullet, they are getting poor accuracy with some getting bullet yawning. This got me to wondering, what if the Mach 2 barrel twist was 8T. Would the accuracy still be there for the 17gr. Mach 2 loads and have decent accuracy for the 17Aguila 20gr loads.
Does anyone have any experience or advise concerning this.

K22, you might pose this question over on Rimfire Central, as those guys are much more knowledgeable about the HM2 than most here.
Just a suggestion.

Re: Barrel Twist 17HM2
I am going to venture a guess, that from what I see in the benefit of a 1/11 twist over the 1/12 twist in the 20 cal, for the most part being able to still get better results with the over 40 gr yet still work very well with the 32 gr bullets, that the effect might well be the same in using a 1/8 instead of a 1/9 in the 17 cal
But that is just a opinion that I have. Maybe run it by a barrel maker or two and see what they believe.

Bill,
That was my thinking also.
I am going to talk to them and get their opinion.
