My thread on chain saws

Post by Tom Kat »

What brand of saw does everyone own?

I have a Stihl, its a modest sized one as I don't do a huge amount to cutting. It has worked well for me, I have had it 10 years.

I like the fact that Stihl makes 100% of their own parts.

Sunsets, sausage making, flowers, now it's chain saws. What's next, what truck do you drive? What toothbrush do you use?

Last time I checked, this was supposed to be a 204/rifle forum with sub categories, all firearm-related. There are forums for such trivia, but I'm at a loss as to why the 204um has devolved into what could be called a morning TV show for the masses.

With forum participation waning, it's no wonder when guys see posts like this on a continuing basis. It's my sincere hope we can keep the forum firearm related.....that is if we want to save it.

And 'yeah', I like Stihl too, who cares? :chin:

I had a Stihl chainsaw years ago. I used it to clear the homesite of the house I built with my own two hands. Back when I built this house I was in my late 20's and fresh out of the Marines. I couldn't afford to build it any other way than "Me, Myself and I Construction Company). So I built it bit by bit by myself. One of my accomplishments that I am most proud of. I'm seventy now and the house is still standing strong.

I remember my wife helping me move the tree limbs to the fire we built one weekend and the resulting poison ivy she got. I didn't get anything from the poison ivy. No explanation why. Anyhow that chainsaw was the start of this project. I wouldn't allow any heavy machinery on the site. Young and dumb.
