2024 Small Caliber Five Shot Challenge

Post by skipper »

Tomorrow at midnight, Central Daylight Time, I'll be posting the Competition Target. Just print it out on 8 1/2 x 11 paper and you're off to the range.

Competition Rules:

* Members ONLY
* .224 caliber or smaller
* Five shots
* 100 yards
* Smallest five (5) shot group wins (center to center)

There will only be one category of rifle for this event. The members comments have overwhelmingly determined that it's the shooter who is the key contributing factor in a shooting competition. ONLY one target may be submitted for scoring. Targets must be posted in the 2024 Competition Results thread (created after the competition begins) before the stroke of midnight Sunday, June 30th. Scoring may begin after the cutoff time has expired. Members will use whatever means they have to determine group size. The consensus of the body of members will decide the winner.

Good Luck

Here you go. Print out this target on an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper. You may have to copy and paste it to some other application so you can print it, depending on whatever type of computer you have.

They're might be a few who don't see the bullseye and only focus on the varmint on the page Bill.

You have a point there, since we love shooting those little varmints. I really had a smile with your comment. :D

There's a bullseye there? All my brain saw when opening this post was a RAT! :eek:

Some brains are conditioned much differently than others, my wife tells me I've got what she calls "Rat Brain" at this time of year. She may be onto something. :lol:

Looks to be a good target.....if the shooter can ignore the rodent!

Last night I had a thought. I know, rare event for sure, BUT what if everyone PMed me your targets instead of posting them on a thread that was visible to everyone? If I had a target for entry and saw a group smaller than mine, I would probably just NOT POST IT. So instead of being able to see what you're up against before posting why not just post your targets in a Private Message (PM) to me, skipper. After the cutoff time and date I will post them all at once. That way we should have more participants this year. What do you think about this idea of mine???

Rick, the rat is meant as a distractor.

I know Skipper. I am already putting some extra effort into reloading ten rounds to shoot a couple fouling shots and then the five on the target, for score. May just head up to my club range in the next day or two, towards late afternoon/eve when the wind is usually very calm and go for it.

I also like the idea of sending you our targets, so some may not do as you mentioned and just not bother to send theirs in.

I truly hope many will shoot in this event and just enjoy this sort of very friendly competition. :D
