Invasive animals

Post by Bill K »

Saw a very shot blip about Wy officials releasing 90 Kagaroos in the wilds. What's with that ? Anyone have any information on this, true or a rumor ?
If it is true, what in the world is their reason for doing it ?

I'll have to admit this is the first I've heard of that.

I keep looking for another report or information. Have not tried email with Wy game officials. Maybe I might see via that and see what they say or know.

I found this from Wyoming Public Media:

Wyomingites could be seeing new wildlife soon. Buckrail reports the Wyoming Wild Game Department and the Wyoming Migration Initiative have released the first of 5 batches of 90 Antilopine Kangaroos. Since “Antilopine” means “antelope-like,” researchers want to learn how the kangaroos do in the antelope’s habitat.

Kind of my thoughts Skipper, but then again, look what some wildlife departments have done by releasing wolves in some states. Just crazy, in my mind. :chin:

Armadillos are now up in my area.
